| Metropolitans Small Business Mentoring Program is designed to enhance the competitiveness of various industry sectors within the small business community towards meeting public sector requirements in contracting. The mentoring program provides access to available resources and one-on-one/group coaching, strategic guidance, training and contracting options. As a result the small businesses participating gain increased capability to be responsive to Metropolitan solicitations and increased potential towards delivering lower contract pricing with high-quality products and services.
Program Benefits
The Mentoring Program intends to supplement other program components including the vendor introduction, small business certification, networking events, and vendor training in an effort to:
- Create a broader competitive base of Metropolitan vendors
- Increase the number of vendors who can provide products and services at a lower cost, reduced cycle times and increase responsiveness

Business Development Series
Qualified SBEs who have participated in the coaching program may also be asked to participate in the Business Development Series depending on the type of products or services they provide. The Business Development Series involves raising the visibility of the small business firm to Metropolitan management, buyer and prime contractor communities. The module will include networking and matchmaking events where specific Metropolitan buyers, project managers and prime contractors will be invited to meet with small businesses relative to upcoming opportunities.
A subconsultant/subcontractor/subsupplier module is available in this series to further the development of SBEs by increasing small businesses that can be available to Metropolitan Prime contractors/consultants.
