Sponsorships are for events/activities that are short-term (one to three days). All requests should be of value to Metropolitan and further Metropolitan's goals and objectives, and must have a water-related component.
Applications must be completed and submitted 60 days prior to special events or activities.
Due to record dry conditions, CPP’s primary focus is currently on sponsorships for water conservation programs and activities.
These sponsorships are designed for short-term activities, such as:
- Educational outreach opportunity on regional water resources issues;
- Community water festivals, Earth Day events (funds permitting);
- Activity or event that involves media/communication professionals;
- Forums/conferences/workshops;
- A special event or activity for community leaders, public officials or stakeholder organization.
Please read over all the materials in the Getting Started section before you begin the application process to make sure your organization qualifies.
NEW:
Funding of any combined sponsorship, i.e., community partnering program, special activities and/or events, will be awarded for only two consecutive (fiscal) years per organization, followed by a one-year hiatus. After the hiatus, an applicant may apply for funding of an entirely new or different program. Funding will not be awarded for previously funded programs.
For questions, call a Community Partnering Program representative at (213) 217-6633 or 217-6619 or 217-7262.
Special events or activities goals are to:
- Increase understanding of California's water issues, in particular, focusing on water conservation programs.
- Focus on Metropolitan's community participation around regional water policy issues.
- Clearly communicate regional water policy issues to key constituent groups.
- Provide opportunities for participation and collaboration with Metropolitan's member agencies; and
- Diversify channels of participation in the community.
